Mitsubishi Evolution Officially Launched
August 22, 2008 by Terence

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2.0 (previously know as the Evolution X or Evo X) has been officially launched in Malaysia at an event in KLCC yesterday.
The variant that we are getting is the MR version which is supposedly the highest spec Evolution model. One unique feature about the MR version is that the plate holder is actually in the middle and not at the side as we have seen on other Evolutions.
The 4B11T MIVEC intercooled turbo engine produces up to 296HP and 366Nm of torque and unlike grey imported ones, doesn’t have any speed limiter. This version sports the 6 speed TC-SST (Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission) with magnesium paddle shifters sending power via S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) system to all four of its wheels. Sadly though the manual version will not be brought in.
Standard on the Evolution are front and rear Eibach coil springs mated to Blistein shock absorbers while stopping power is provided by 4 sets of brembo ventilated disc brakes just behind the 18″ BBS forged aluminum alloy wheels.
On the inside, the Evolution comes with 7 Airbags, electrical slide and tilt sunroof, RECARO full bucket racing seats on the front and a 650W Rockford Fosgate audio system with 6 speakers. Other goodies include keyless entry and ignition system, scuff plates, Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) with HIDs, headlamp washers and auto-rain sensing wipers.
Now the big question, how much? For a private registration, the on-the-road price with insurance is RM323,888.00. Colours offered are Red Metalic, Solid White and Phantom Black Pearl.
UPDATE: Seems that this new Evolution can only run on RON98 petrol and above which means the closest thing we have here is V-Power.
