Honda America has announced a recall which involves about 353,000 year 2003 Accords. This is due to a possible corrosion in the windshield wiper system that could allow water to enter the area around the windshield wiper motor.

This can lead to corrosion and the possible failure of the motor which if happens, will trip a circuit breaker inside the motor and prevent the windshield wipers from working.

So far no injuries or accidents have been linked to the defect according to Honda, but what I like to know is if this also effects our local Accords (which is being replaced with the new version this month) which is essentially similar to the US version.

UPDATE: After a call to the our local Honda customer service hot line, it seems that out local version is NOT affected. The only other region to be effected by this recall is Taiwan.
