Hamilton takes pole in Melbourne

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton grabbed pole position for tomorrow’s season opener in Melbourne, continuing impressively from where he left off last season. Ferrari’s reigning champion, Kimi Raikonnen was sidelined in the second quarter of qualifying and will start from the tail end at 16th spot.
Robert Kubica in the BMW suprised everyone with his pace in qualifying and will start tomorrow’s race alongside Hamilton, followed by the second McLaren Mercedes of Kovalainen in third and Felipe Massa’s Ferrari on fourth.
