Toyota officially launched their new Altis today. I went to check it out at UMW Toyotsu Motors Showroom at Seksyen 15, Shah Alam.

Since the sales persons were all still in some sort of launching meeting at the time I was there, this is the only pricing details I got.

The difference between the Sporty and normal is the Aerokit Package aka body kit.

Let’s start with the interior which is only offered in the beige with wooden trimming (only for 1.8G Sporty and 1.8G).

Driving position is not bad and is further improve with a 8 way powered positioning seat.

Optitron Meter and Multi Information Display is standard on the 1.8G Sporty and 1.8G versions.

The steering wheel is loaded with buttons for audio and display function but no F1 style gear shifting here though. The power steering is electric just like the Honda City, not sure if this would lead to lack of feedback, but it will sure save on power sapping from the engine.

Traction control and Vehicle Stability System is also standard on the 1.8G Sporty and 1.8G.

The central console looks similar to the older version.

On to the engine bay. You may notice the new trend in cars these days is to position the engine so that the manifold is facing the back instead of the traditional front.
