Created and rendered by Steve Twist, a student from Bournemouth University going for his degree in Computer Visualization and Animation, the awesome transforming Norton Commander you see here is the result of eight months of sweat and labor.
Maybe Steve can get a job at animating the next Autobot or Decepticon for the next Transformers movie.

Citroen has just release some information and a slew of photos of their new C3, to be launched sometime next year.
To be officially revealed in the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show, this Ford Fiesta rival is quite a looker, especially with the optional ‘Zenith’ windscreen. Not only does it stretches right over the driver’s head, giving a panoramic view, it also creates an airy ambiance inside the car.
The interior is based on the DS3 concept car which means improved quality and a more up market feel. And although the new C3 is bigger, with a 200liters boot space, apparently it weighs the same as the old model.
Aside from the normal petrol versions, there will be a eco HDi 90 version that’s capable of emitting just 99g/km of CO2 available at launch. Stop & Start technology will also be featured roughly a year later with a diesel and a 3 cylinder petrol engines. Both are capable of below 100g/km.
One of Porsche’s most famous car will be making a come back, the Spyder, due in 2013. Originally designed for racing, the original Spyder 550 (photo below) gained popularity when it won its class at Le Mans but then fell into notoriety when one of it was fatally crashed by James Dean in 1955.
To be based on Volkswagen’s Bluesport Concept, it will also share this platform with the soon to be launched Audi A2. The Spyder however will maintain Porsche’s unparalleled driving experienced but in a much lighter and fuel efficient package.
To be slotted just under the Boxster, the Spyder will be just 3.99m long and comes equipped with a folding canvas roof. Most probably powered by a range of turboed 4 cylinder engine from Volkswagen. Not that its a bad thing since VW’s engines are among the best in its class.
The basic model will probably use a version of the 2.0l TFSI engine in the VW Gold GTI but mounted in the middle of the car, behind the driver but in front of the rear axle for optimum balance. If 200bhp is not enough to trill, a Sports version with 280bhp might just do the trick.
Prices as expected are much lower than the Boxsters but significantly higher that VW’s own Bluesport. Starting at just £28,000 or RM162,000 before taxes and other charges.
*Note however that the illustration above is just Auto Express’ imagination on how the new baby 2 seater Porsche Spyder will look like.

Its official! Saab, which is currently owned by General Motors will be bought over by Koenigsegg, putting it back in Swedish control.
The deal will be partly financed by a USD$600 million loan from the European Investment Bank that is co-signed by the Swedish government.
Koenigsegg, makes of supercars such as the CCX and the CCR, will still rely on GM’s platforms and drivetrains for the current and most probably next generation of Saab models.
The new 9-5 that will be launching this year is to be built in Trollhättan, Sweden followed soon by the 9-4X crossover vehicle. The 9-1 will follow suit in 2010 or 2011 with the next generation 9-3 most probably utilizing Koenigsegg-Saab’s own platform or GM’s Delta II platform.
The Koenigsegg-Saab buyover should be a done deal by the end of September.
Tata is planning on introducing more variants and options for the Nano after finding out that out of the 200,000 units ordered, only 20% of them make up the base model.
Thus to make it more attractive for the local buyers, Tata is now planning to launch a 0.8l diesel engine version and bring back an originally rejected plan of a 3-door version.
The 3-door version sounds good especially for a small car such as the Nano but I’m not so confident on the diesel version though which is suppose to be supplied by Germany’s FEV.
